Hospital Service District No. 2

A public steward of community healthcare.

Hospital Service District No. 2 of the Parish of St. Mary was created under Louisiana's hospital service district law, enacted by the Legislature in 1950. The District owns the hospital facility in Morgan City and represents the public interest in providing hospital and medical care in the District. The District serves residents from Calumet to Amelia and exists to keep healthcare close to home, and to keep its stewardship of public resources transparent.

What the District does

• Owns and maintains the hospital facility the community depends on.
• Oversees hospital operations to ensure accountable, quality care for District residents.
• Invests voter-approved millage in repairing facilities, acquiring equipment, and supporting hospital services.
• Operates in the open. Agendas, minutes, and infrastructure project spending are public.

The District serves the Morgan City area and surrounding communities from Calumet to Amelia.
